Quarantine Day ?. I lost track. But The Marías just released new music! “Jupiter” is the name of the new track and along with it came a new video. The song itself gives me slow, groovy, sultry psychedelic vibes that make me think of those scenes in coming-of-age movies where the two main characters fall in love. This is definitely one of those timeless songs that you can listen to year after year and still remember how you felt the first time you heard it.
Let’s talk about the music video: filmed on 8mm film by the talented Alondra Buccio (definitely check out her work, she’s AMAZING), the video gives off super nostalgic 90’s vibes. The glittery eyeshadow, the glittery jacket, the silk red dress, the sheets blowing in the wind, the glowing spheres all scream SENSUAL. All-in-all, I love the song. I love the video.
Check out the video below and enjoy!
P.S. If you love this song, love their other song “Hold It Together,” and own a record player, head over to their website themarias.us and check out the two-sided vinyl they’re selling!
The Marías announced that 100% of the profits from the vinyl sales will be donated to Feeding America, an organization that supplies food banks and feeds hundreds of communities around the country. More information below!
